New life for old bikes

We welcome donations of bikes, they are our bread & butter.  We refurbish these to make available for resale at affordable prices. Any bikes we can’t repair are stripped for useful parts and then sent for recycling.

Each year we receive over 600 bikes from donations. We refurbish about 450 of these and use the rest for spare parts to fix other bikes.

If you have a bike you can donate, we’d love to hear from you. We’re very grateful if you can drop any donations off to us, any time we are open. If this is too difficult, do get in touch and we may be able to arrange to collect from you.

Recycling

We send about 150 bikes per year for recycling. Scrap metal is collected and sent to be melted down. Old unuseable tyres and inner tubes are also recycled as part of the national Velorim programme.
