Adult Cycle Training After running cycle training courses throughout the Summer, we will be restarting regular, monthly courses again in Spring 2027. However, some ad-hoc courses will be running before then, including a stand-alone two-hour training session on Sunday 1st November, which can be booked here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/adult-cycle-training-session-tickets-2003123390985 We can also run 1 to 1, 1 to 2 or 1 to 3 courses for individuals or small groups, to be arranged at a time that suits you. 1 to 1 sessions cost £50 for two hours, 1 to 2 sessions £55 and 1 to 3 sessions £60. If you already cycle on the road but want help planning or practicing a route through town (maybe to work, school or an appointment) we can also offer help with this, at a rate of £25 per hour. All these costs are the minimum amount needed to cover instructor’s wages for the session and maintaining equipment. As a non-profit, all course fees go back into the running of the training. Free places are available for people who cannot afford the cost, or who are referred through a GP, community group or social prescribing, funded by Brighton & Hove City Council. See www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/travel-and-road-safety/travel-transport-and-road-safety/move-change#tab–cycling-for-social-prescribing for further information. If cost is a barrier for you, please send an email to volunteer@brightonbikehub.org. Whether you’re a complete beginner who would like to start cycling or a regular cyclist looking to brush up on advanced skills, we can tailor a cycle training session to suit you. The sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as those wanting to improve their cycling skills and confidence. Each session is split into small groups based on ability – beginners will have sessions within the park, while those already able to cycle will be invited to leave the park to practice a range of maneuvers on quiet local streets. Bikes and helmets are provided. All instructors are DBS checked, Bikeability trained and teach to the UK national standard for cycle training. They have experience supporting people of all abilities, including those who have never ridden a bike before. To book a training session please email volunteer@brightonbikehub.org
